York St John traces it history back to 1841 when it was started as a teachers training college with just one enrolled student. From those days, the college has grown to what it is now: a University college with over 5000 students. It would soon be accredited as a full-fledged University.
The college is located in the historic and well-connected city of York. The Beautiful campus, having modern facilities and historic buildings is situated very close to the city centre. The College offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts, education and theology, health sciences, Business studies and sports and psychology. Students from all over the world are welcomed for both full time and part time into each of the schools.
The University College aims to provide excellence in education by adopting methods that are in tune with modern day needs. The curriculum undergoes constant upgradation. The college also has tie up with many institutions abroad and regularly conducts student exchange programmes.
York St John has excellent facilities for sporting, the sports centre even boasts of an indoor football field and a climbing wall. The excellent learning centre in the campus has well equipped seminar and teaching rooms. The centre also has an Internet café and plush reading rooms with a well-stocked and modern library.
