Founded in 1872, the Aberystwyth was the first university institution to be established in Wales. At present, there are over 7,000 students registered in various courses in various subject areas. The number of students also includes 1,100 post graduate students across 18 academic departments.
The Aberystwyth, University of Wales, offers a comprehensive range of liaison services and facilities. The university currently provides a range of services and activities in support of the Pre- and Post-16 Education sectors.
The Aberystwyth offers a wide range of course programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The University has also offered some new postgraduate course programmes that include Legal Practice Course, MA in language teaching, MA in TESOL, Criminology, and MScEcon Security and Citizenship: European and Global Dimensions.
The various academic departments of the university include the Faculty of Art, Biological Sciences, Computer Science, Education & Lifelong Learning, English Literature, Geography on Earth Sciences, Information Studies, International Politics, Law, Management & Business, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Rural Sciences, Theatre, Film and Television studies, and History & Welsh History.
The Language and Learning Centre of the Aberystwyth provides courses for English language learners and teachers, as well as a range of learning supports services for students of the University.
