The University of Portsmouth has 33 academic departments, each offering a wide range of courses. Academic departments are distributed across the five faculties, which provide a support structure that enables each department to meet their objectives and serve their students effectively. The five main faculties include Portsmouth Business School, Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, and the Faculty of Technology.
The University of Portsmouth offers a wide range of course programmes in various subject areas at foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate level. The University also offers various distance-learning courses to its students. Students can also get enrolled in various professional courses offered by the university.
Apart from these, the university also offers various research degree programmes, such as Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy, Doctor of medicine, and Master of Surgery. The full-time research degree programmes for PhD and MD are usually of three years’ duration, and the MPhil and MS usually two years.
