University of Hertfordshire has a history dating back to 1952 when the Hatfield Technical College was established. The institution gained the status of a university in 1992. It has a student community of more than 24000 students with more than 2000 students from overseas.
University of Hertfordshire comprises of 21 schools of studies that are organized into 6 faculties;
- Creative and Cultural Industries
- Business School
- Engineering and Information Sciences
- Health and Human Sciences
- Humanities, Law and Education
- Interdisciplinary Studies.
It has forged associations with four colleges; Hertford Regional College, North Hertfordshire College, Oaklands College and West Herts College.
The instructors at the institution are experts with many years of experience with many having the highest degree in their respective fields of study. State-of-the-art facilities and a world class curriculum ensure that the students are trained for employment in the global market. Students also have an opportunity to study at one of the partner institutions overseas.
It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a variety of fields such as Aerospace Engineering, Bioscience, digital technology, and Accounting, Business, and Computer Science among many others.
The institution also offers National Vocational Qualifications programs in care, child care and education, laboratory operations, training and development. It has also adopted a Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme that enables students to accumulate credits that can be transferred to other institutions should there be a need for it.
