University of Glasgow was established in 1451 and currently has a student body of more than 24000 students and has about 400 academic staff. It is a research powerhouse working on research projects with more than 200 institutions around the world. It operates from its three main campuses; Gilmorehill, Garscube, and Crichton Campus.
The University of Glasgow offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as access programs for mature students and short courses. The institution offers full as well as part-time classes. The students may also opt for distance mode of education. It offers Part-time evening, weekend and daytime courses that can lead to certificates of higher education.
It comprises of the faculties of Arts, Education, Engineering, Law, Business & Social Sciences, Medicine, Physical Science, Biomedical & Life Sciences, Information & Mathematical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. The faculties make up about 100 academic departments. The students can select programs from more than one faculty giving them a huge array of combinations to choose from. The faculty members are highly qualified experts in their respective fields.
Students are awarded a four-year Honours degree or a three-year general degree. The curriculum is regularly reviewed and updated. Students are offered a wide range of assistance ranging from financial assistance such as trust funds, childcare funds, a variety of Scholarships and bursaries to talented athlete support.
