Founded in 1960, the University of East Anglia has at present over 13,000 students, among which, approximately 9,900 students are undergraduates and 3,300 are postgraduates. The University is also the home for 1,200 international students from over 100 different countries from all over the world. The Campus of the University of East Anglia is located two miles outside Norwich city centre in 320 acres of parkland. The University campus also provides accommodation for over 3,000 students.
The University of East Anglia offers a wide choice of over 300 courses. These courses are offered through the University’s 23 schools of study. Apart from the normal degree courses, the University also offers over 160 evening and day courses for local people, which are offered in locations throughout Norfolk, including the award-winning Science Starter programme.
The University has strong links with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust and other health providers, in all aspects of bio-medical research involving UEA's Schools of Health, Biological Sciences and Environmental Sciences. The University is also a leading member of the Norwich Research Park (NRP), a powerful co-operative including the John Innes Centre, the Institute of Food Research, the Sainsbury Laboratory, and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust.
