The University of Buckingham has one member of staff for over 9.7 students in comparison to the U.K University average of one member of staff to every 17.5 students. Again, the University has a global community with students of all ages and cultures. You can find students from over 80 countries in this University. However, the largest group of its students still come from the U.K.
The University of Buckingham offers a wide range of programmes as undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees, such as business degrees, humanities degrees, Law degrees, Science Degrees, or degrees in languages. The Study Abroad programmes offer students an academic period of study as an undergraduate at Buckingham. Again, the University also provides an opportunity to its students to participate in a discipline-specific professional practice internship. Apart from these programmes, the University also offers a range of Foundation and Access courses, such as Foundation English (pre-degree courses aim to develop your English and study skills), International Foundation Programme (a 12-month course to prepare students for degree programmes in the School of Business and the School of Humanities).
Unlike many other U.K. Universities, the University of Buckingham does not receive direct subsidy from the Government and this way, it avoids concomitant regulatory interference. Again, the honours degrees from this University take only two years instead of three years, as in other universities. The admission is open for students thrice a year – September, January, or July.
