Based on four campuses in Brighton and Eastbourne, the University of Brighton is a community of 19,000 students and 2100 faculty. The University was established in the mid-19th Century in Brighton and the mid-20th century in Eastbourne.
The University of Brighton offers a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The undergraduate programs of the University include Honours degree programs, foundation degree programs, HNDs, and other professional qualification programs. The postgraduate programs include various master level courses, PGCE, PhD, MPhil, Professional doctorates, and other courses in professional qualifications.
Apart from the regular undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the University of Brighton also offers short courses, evening classes, and workshops in a wide range of subjects that include art and design, business and management, computing, health and social care, teacher education, languages, science, and engineering.
There are five faculties within the University: Faculty of Arts and Architecture, Faculty of Education and Sport, Faculty of Health, Faculty of Management and Information Sciences, and Faculty of Science and Engineering. The University also offers various courses in collaboration with other institutions. Their partner colleges are Central Sussex College, City College (Brighton & Hove), Hastings College of Arts and Technology, Sussex Downs College, Plumpton College, Northbrook College. The Brighton and Sussex Medical School, an academic partnership between Brighton and the University of Sussex, opened in 2003.
