The various departments of the University of Bedfordshire include Faculty of Creative Arts, Technologies and Science, Faculty of Education and Contemporary Studies, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, and the Business School. The Business School of the University of Bedfordshire is the largest University Business School in the region with some 4,000 students and over hundred teaching and research staff. The Work-Based Learning Unit is based in the Business School. This unit is involved in research and development covering work-based learning in higher education and employment.
The Faculty of Creative Arts, Technologies & Science comprises the School of Media, Art & Design, the department of computing & information Systems, and the academic divisions of Psychology, Sport & Exercise Science, Education Studies and Science. The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences provides a range of health-related courses with a focus on nursing and midwifery.
The University offers a wide range of courses as foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate, and short-term programmes. The university also offers the four-year Extended Degree programme for mature students, which will eventually provide a path to degree level study in all subject areas. Its Foundation Degree programmes are designed to provide a more vocational route through higher education. Short-term courses provide certificates and credits in the areas of psychology and social welfare.
