Southampton Solent University is one of the newest universities of England. It was granted the status of a university in the year 2005. It has a student body of more than 16000 students. The institution is comprised of three faculties; the Faculty of Media, Arts and Society, Faculty of Technology, and Southampton Business School. The Warsash Maritime Centre offers students a chance to train for employment in international shipping and offshore oil industries.
